What we lend against
Broadly: things that hold value, that we can authenticate, and that we can
store securely. If you're unsure, call before you drive — it takes a minute
and saves you a trip.

Why we're good at this specifically
A shop that only buys can afford to be wrong occasionally — they
price that risk in and offer you less. A pawnbroker who lends against
a Rolex has to be right the moment the money leaves the drawer.
Thirty years of that pressure builds real expertise, and it works in your
favour: because we can authenticate confidently, we don't need to pad the
loan against uncertainty.
◆ Sometimes we'll tell you to sell instead
If you have no realistic intention of redeeming a piece, a loan is the
expensive way to reach the same place. We'll say so, and quote you an
outright number instead. It's your call — but you should have both numbers
before you choose.
Your item while we hold it
It goes into a licensed, secured safe. It isn't displayed, worn, sold or lent
on. It sits there until you come back for it — that's the entire arrangement,
and it's what the storage side of the charges pays for.
The charges
Pawn loan charges in California are set by state law, not by
us, and they're disclosed in writing on your contract before you sign
anything. Ask at the counter and we'll walk you through the exact numbers for
your loan, line by line, before you commit to it.
We're a licensed California pawnbroker at all three locations — the licence
numbers are on the door and at the bottom of every page on this site.
